| The Conference & Visitors Bureau (CVB) administers the City's efforts to promote tourism to Pismo Beach, thereby enhancing the City's General Fund Revenue through Transient Occupancy Tax receipts and to a lesser but significant extent through Sales Tax receipts. With advise from the five-member Conference & Visitor Bureau Board of Directors the program efforts include periodical and electronic media advertising in both core market regions and into new market areas; a state-of-the-art website and website marketing program for optimum visitorship; participation in industry trade shows as well as consumer travel shows; development and maintenance of ongoing relations with travel writers, tour operators, conference planners and other media representatives; and preparation of collateral materials, including the Pismo Beach Visitor & Meeting Guide; as well as oversee the City's Visitors Information Center; be a State Office of Tourism liaison and serve on the Board of Directors for our regional Tourism Council. |
